Angelina Jolie Takes a Page Out of Meghan Markle’s Royal Wardrobe Playbook
Finally Angelina Jolie Takes a Page Out of Meghan Markle’s Royal Wardrobe Playbook, Angelina Jolie might not have attended the royal wedding, but earlier today at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, the actress made a regal impression. Jolie attended the Order of St. Michael and St. George service, which recognizes extraordinary achievements from individuals in non-military service—and looked like a member of the royal family in a prim pencil dress custom made by Ralph & Russo couture.
The head-to-toe dove-grey ensemble was a polished choice ideal for the occasion. It’s worth noting that the soft cowl neckline has also been sported by the most recent addition to the royal family, Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex. Markle wore a heavily embellished dress by Ralph & Russo in her engagement portrait to Prince Harry, and Jolie’s ensemble captured the same eye-catching effect but with a more discreet wrapping.
The sleek, body-skimming silhouette of Jolie’s dress also read like a nod to the ensembles sported by Markle and sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Cropped sleeve added a touch of old world elegance, while tonally coordinated gloves were a nod towards Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s preference for the throwback accessory. (Her Majesty was unable to attend today’s ceremony due to illness).
Heeled pumps, a clutch, and, of course, a sculptural hat kept the palette on point from head to toe.
